Woodland Shelter

Torroy Croft, Spinningdale


built for The Woodland Trust


completed in 2013


This building provides a sheltered space for outdoor and educational activities connected with the surrounding ancient oak woodland. A new oak frame, crafted by timber-framer Tim Meek, was built within the remnants of the abandoned crofthouse walls.

The red profiled steel roof echoes the rusty hues of old corrugated iron.
